Our story
Maria Sandoval started Sunshine Tax & Bookkeeping in 2015 with one goal: to be the kind of tax advisor she wished she'd had when she first started handling her own finances. Too many people felt intimidated walking into an accountant's office, and she wanted to change that.
We're not here to just file your return and hand you a bill. We're here to make sure you actually understand your financial picture, feel good about where things stand, and know you've got someone in your corner all year long.

Maria founded Sunshine Tax & Bookkeeping in 2015 after 12 years in public accounting, driven by a simple belief — that every client deserves a tax advisor who explains things clearly and actually picks up the phone. As an enrolled agent, she is licensed to represent clients before the IRS and specializes in helping families and small business owners build a healthier financial picture year after year.
Senior Bookkeeper
Tom is a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor with a talent for bringing order to even the messiest set of books. He works closely with Sunshine Tax's small business clients to set up clean accounting systems, reconcile accounts monthly, and make sure every number tells the right story come tax season.
Tax Preparer
Angela specializes in individual tax returns and has a particular gift for making first-time filers and newly self-employed clients feel at ease. She stays current on the latest changes to Arizona and federal tax law so her clients never miss a deduction or credit they've earned.
